Ms. Ogle

My name is Julie Ogle.  Music has been a part of my whole life, thanks to a great musical education provided by the public school system.  I was raised outside of Richmond, Virginia and started playing trumpet when I was eleven years old.  I started teaching private lessons at age sixteen and realized then how much I enjoyed sharing my love of music with children.  I eventually earned three degrees in music at Centre College in Kentucky, The Conservatory of Amsterdam in The Netherlands, and Christopher Newport University in Virginia.

Musical highlights for me have included playing trumpet for Wynton Marsalis, making a living playing in an oompah band, gigging with various orchestras around Holland, premiering contemporary music, and touring on the natural trumpet in authentic baroque musical ensembles around Europe.
